Founding partner with GTI Administração de Recursos, an independent investment management company focusing on Brazil’s stock market. During his more than 17 years of experience in financial markets, André Gordon has worked at the trading desks of several renowned financial institutions, including Banco Itaú BBA, Santander and Banco Bozano, Simonsen. He is a member of AMEC’s Audit and Technical Committees and holds a master’s degree in Economics from EPGE/FGV-RJ and an Economics degree from FEA/USP.
Fabio Alperowitch

Fabio Alperowitch, CFA is a founding partner with FAMA Investimentos, an independent investment management firm founded in 1993 that focuses on small-cap stocks and private equity and currently manages about R$ 1.7 billion, predominantly from universities, pension funds, and insurance companies. FAMA’s most traditional fund — Futurewatch — has a return of 37% per year compounded for more than 15 years. Fabio Alperowitch is in the Board of Directors of Magnesita, M. Dias Branco, and LogIn. He graduated in Business Administration from Fundação Getulio Vargas and was awarded the CFA — Chartered Financial Analyst — designation.
Guilherme Affonso Ferreira

President of Bahema Participações, Guilherme Ferreira is in the Board of Directors of Pão de Açúcar, Eternit, HSBC Fundo Multipatrocinado, Tavex and Rio Bravo Investimentos. He is also in the Investment Board of Rio Bravo Fundamental FIA and in the Advisory Board of Banco Signatura Lazard. He has a degree in Production Engineering from Escola Politécnica da Universidade de São Paulo and studied Economics and Politics at Macalester College (Minneapolis).
Luiz Francisco Guerra

Lecture: “Selecting and co-investing with value-focused managers”
Partner with PRAGMA, responsible for managing liquid assets, focusing on international and domestic stocks. Formerly, he was an equity portfolio manager with Janos since 2000 and, starting in 2002, also a member of its allocation committee. He worked at VBC Energia (Votorantim, Bradesco e Camargo Corrêa) — participating in Brazil’s electrical sector privatization process — and was a financial officer with Grupo Abril. He is in the Board of Directors of Pini Editora and Grupo Klick. Luiz Francisco Guerra is a CFA and holds a master’s degree in Business Administration from Fundação Getulio Vargas and a Production Engineering degree from Universidade de São Paulo.
Mario Fleck

Mario Fleck is president of Rio Bravo, an independent investment management company focusing on the Brazilian market. Head of equities for four years, he helped create Rio Bravo Fundamental FIA, the value/activist fund which he still manages. Before that, he worked for 28 years with Accenture — 14 years as the company’s president in Brazil. With a degree in Mechanical and Industrial Engineering from Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio de Janeiro, he is a Board member at Cremer and Eternit, a former Board member at Unipar and Ferbasa, and also serves on the Board of three unlisted companies: Disec, Direct Talk and Tecnologica. He is the vice president of the Federação Israelita de São Paulo and of the Câmara de Comércio Brasil-Israel.
Mauricio Bittencourt

Partner with M Square since April 2007 and manager of the firm’s Brazilian-equity funds. Before joining M Square, Mauricio Bittencourt was an associate partner with Banco Pactual (2005-2007), a partner with Synthesis Asset Management/Synergy Funds (2003-2005), and a partner/portfolio manager with Investidor Profissional (1992-2003). He has a bachelor’s degree in Economics from Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro.

Mauro Rodrigues da Cunha, CFA is partner and head of equities with Mauá Sekular Investimentos. From 2001 to 2007 he was investment director with Franklin Templeton Asset Management and with its predecessor, Bradesco Templeton. Between 1998 and 2001 he was a partner with Investidor Profissional. Besides having been Chairman of the Board of the Instituto Brasileiro de Governança Corporativa (IBGC) and a board member of many companies, his career also includes positions at Banco Pactual, Pactual Asset Management, Morgan Stanley Asset Management, Deutsche Morgan Grenfell, and Bank of America Latam Private Equity. He has a degree in Economics from PUC-RJ and an MBA from University of Chicago. Since 1997, he holds the CFA — Chartered Financial Analyst — designation.
Renato Opice Sobrinho

Renato Opice Sobrinho is partner and portfolio manager with Pavarini e Opice Gestão de Ativos. He manages of the Fundo Pavarini I FIA, which returned 1961% from its inception in April 1997 to February 2010 — as compared to 582% returned by the Ibovespa Index during the same period. He started his career in 1977 as an investment analyst. He was portfolio manager at BankBoston and, later on, worked at banks Econômico, Multiplic, and BMG, becoming director of investments and asset management. He graduated in Business Administration and has a specialization degree in Finance.
